Luton Borough Council charge points upgraded by Chargemaster following Source East closure

  • Following the recent announcement that the POLAR network is to take on ex-Source East charge points
  • Five units in Luton upgraded to the latest spec charge points as part of £15m investment into POLAR network
  • Luton Borough Council charge points the first of former Source East network hosts to upgrade infrastructure
  • Other Source East hosts can also benefit from having obsolete posts replaced by Chargemaster free of charge with complimentary maintenance contracts

Since the recent announcement that Chargemaster and its POLAR network is to take on former Source East charge points, charging infrastructure owned by Luton Borough Council has been upgraded by Chargemaster to the latest specification of units.The following five charge points situated in and around Luton are now accessible to POLAR plus customers with an easy-to-use RFID card or key fob, adding to their network of over 5,000 charge points nationwide.

  • Alma Street
  • Vicarage Street
  • Upper George Street
  • Bute Street
  • Stockwood Park Discovery Centre

The charge point at Basepoint Business Centre will also be upgraded very shortly.

Following Source East’s closure, Chargemaster and the POLAR network are offering existing site owners and other Source East hosts complimentary upgrades, maintenance and communication packages, as well as free of charge rapid charge points.
